Dinner for a Small Planet with Author Francis Moore Lappé & Chef Taylor Kalasky

  • Time: 6:30–9pm

6:30pm reception; 7-9pm dinner

While John Van Hamersveld was creating album covers for the counterculture movement of the ’60s and ’70s, many started to embrace vegetarianism. Pioneering that movement was Francis Lappé who wrote the bestselling cook book, Diet for a Small Planet, which explored not only healthy eating, but also the environmental and economic impact of food production and its contributing role to world hunger. The Westmoreland invites you to a unique vegetarian culinary experience that blends conversation with Moore Lappé and food inspired by her recipes, prepared by Chef Taylor Kalasky of Yumzio Bistro.

Learn more about being a vegetarian or how to embrace simple steps like “meatless Mondays,” during this delicious four course meal.
