Virtual October Community Day

  • Time: 10am –1pm

The Westmoreland is going virtual with Community Day. Each community day we will present a variety of programs filled with fun and creative activities including art activities, musical performances, dance parties, and much more. Please watch our social media and website for more details. Events will occur throughout the day beginning at 10am. All events are free and will be shared to The Westmoreland’s Facebook and YouTube.

  • 10am – Chair Yoga with Dub Yoga Plus
    Grab a chair and join us for a relaxing session of Chair Yoga with Leigh from Dub Yoga Plus, a studio celebrating community and fostering a space where all are welcome! Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga, exploring traditional yoga poses from a seated position. These poses, or asanas, are adaptions taken from a traditional Vinyasa style yoga class. The chair is used to support those who wish to participate in yoga, but have some difficulty with more rigorous movement.

  • 10:30am – Waterfall Painting Tutorial by Amy Roadman
    Follow along during artist Amy Roadman’s step-by-step waterfall painting tutorial and learn how to achieve a 3-dimensional water effect or watch the tutorial to find inspiration for a project you may want to complete later. What Materials Would Be Helpful to Follow Along: Canvas board (or other painting surface), Paint, Paint Brushes, Cup of Water, A Paper Towel.
  • 11:00am – Art Made Using Stuff at Home: Skeleton Hand Art Activity
    Join Michael Carsone as he demonstrates how to create a skeleton hand with materials you can find around your home or simply watch the demonstration to find inspiration for a project you might want to try out later once you have time to gather more materials. What Materials Would Be Helpful to Follow Along: Colored Cardstock, Pencil, Q-tips, Scissors, White Paint, Paint Brush, Paper Plate, Paper Towels
  • 11:10am – Autumn at the Museum Shop
    Experience autumn at the Museum Shop and discover beautiful autumn decor and cozy accessories, made by local artists!
