The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is already looking forward to the next Art in Bloom event, coming March of 2025. The Museum was so pleased with the very successful return of the event in 2024, following a long hiatus. Art in Bloom and it’s exciting related programming invite art and nature lovers to experience the magic of artistic floral interpretation. This event offers a unique opportunity for artists and guests alike to engage with art in a different way.

Attendees of Art in Bloom enjoy floral compositions created by talented florists and floral designers from our region and inspired by works in the Museum’s collection. These fleeting pieces of floral art provide wonderful photo opportunities for visitors, allowing guests to capture the colorful combination of art and nature. There are also prizes and titles to be won for The Committee’s Choice, Director’s Choice, and People’s Choice. The 2024 winners can be viewed below.

The 2024 Winners Are…

For The Committee’s Choice, the winner is: Floral Installation #7 by Planted in Pitt (Artwork Inspiration: Sharif Bey ,Bird Skull: Fire #2, 2020).

For Director’s Choice, the winner is: Floral Installation #2 by Penna Flower Company (Artwork Inspiration: Artist Once Known,Bald Eagle, around 1850).

For People’s Choice, the winner is: Floral Installation #14 by Eichenlaub (Artwork Inspiration: Robert Griffing, The Wounding of General Braddock: Battle of the Monongahela 9 July 1755, 2005).
