Virtual Program: What is Plein Air Painting?

Learn about the art of plein air painting, the act of painting outdoors, from Rita Haldeman, a local plein air artist, and Kristin Miller, Site Director and Education Coordinator at Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) in Ligonier.

This program will also highlight opportunities to observe and participate in plein air events happening throughout the county in September—Plein Air Month—all part of Westmoreland County’s 250th anniversary celebration, including one at the Museum!
