Artist in Action Summers of Green Apples with Salt

Opening Reception: Friday, June 8, 5-7pm

Metal fiber sculptor Atticus Adams will create a site-specific installation titled Summers of Green Apples with Salt in the Robertshaw Gallery at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art. Visitors will have the opportunity to see Adams at work between June 5-7, and the exhibition will be on view through August 5.

This exhibition is the second in the Artist in Action series at the Museum, in which visitors have the opportunity to interact with an artist as they work and experience part of their creative process.

Summers of Green Apples with Salt invokes Adams’ childhood memories of summers spent with his grandmother. Adams uses aluminum, bronze, coppers and stainless steel mesh to create abstract sculptures and installations, which often resemble flowers, clouds and other natural phenomena.
