Tom Persinger: The New American Farmer

Opening Reception: Friday, March 8 > 5–7pm

The New American Farmer is an exploration of the changing face and practice of farming and local food in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Photographer Tom Persinger spent time visiting farms that incorporate organic or sustainable methods located within 100 miles of Pittsburgh to photograph, interview, and discuss farming with those practicing on the front lines. These citizen stewards work the land using both new and old techniques to revolutionize methods of growing clean, healthy food in our region.

This exhibition is held in conjunction with Sherrie Levine’s After Russell Lee, 1-60, on loan from Art Bridges and on view in the Post-1950s Gallery.
