Brian McCall: The Sounds of Summer
Brian McCall has been making drawings almost every Friday night during the Summer Sounds concerts in St. Clair Park for the past twelve years. This exhibition features an excerpt of one of the backdrop paintings he created for the amphitheater, over 200 drawings of performers and audience members, and a selection of his sculptures that are carried by volunteers through the park to collect donations during the concerts.
Born in Marin County, California, Brian has worked in a number of professions over the years: as a professional baseball player, he played center field for the Chicago White Sox; as a courtroom artist in Washington, DC, (where he was the only artist in the Watergate Senate hearings); and as an animator for television.
McCall received his B.F.A. from the California College of the Arts in Oakland. He moved to Greensburg in 1993 with his wife Joanna Moyer and they live in the former Our Lady of Grace Church in the Hilltop neighborhood of Greensburg
