School Exhibitions: Igniting Inspiration

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, these exhibitions feature two-dimensional artworks created by students from four local high schools (Hempfield, Greensburg Central Catholic, Greensburg Salem, and Penn Trafford) and Hempfield Middle School students from West Hempfield and Wendover. Together, these young artists explore what America has been, what it is today, and what it might become in the next 250 years.

Each student was invited to create an original work that reflects a personal vision of the nation, drawing inspiration from pivotal moments in American history, contemporary social and cultural issues, and their own dreams, questions, and hopes for the future. Collectively, the exhibitions offer a powerful reminder that America’s story is ongoing—shaped not only by its history, but also by the voices, creativity, and perspectives of the next generation.
