Immersive Experiences

The Westmoreland’s collection comes to life through multi-projection, surround sound, and animated effects. Created by award-winning OLO Creative Farm, these immersive experiences seamlessly blend art and technology to evoke the feeling of stepping inside the paintings. The digital images of the artworks have been enhanced using visual effects to enrich the immersive experience. The immersive experience is on view during regular Museum hours (Wed-Sun, 10am-5pm). Admission is free; no reservation required.

Steel Valley Visions: An American Legacy

Steel Valley Visions: An American Legacy comprises a traditional exhibition (through Jan. 18, 2027) plus an immersive experience that opens January 21, 2026. On view during regular Museum hours (Wed-Sun, 10am-5pm). Admission is free; no reservation required.

Throughout the Big Steel Era in western Pennsylvania, artists captured a compelling visual record of the industry’s rise and fall: the grit and glory, power and peril, beauty and brutality. This exhibition brings together historical and contemporary works that reflect on the region’s industrial past and its continuing influence.

Steel Valley Visions: An American Legacy and the immersive experience are made possible by generous support from the Hillman Foundation and The Heinz Endowments.

The Steel Valley Visions immersive experience is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Laurel Ridge Foundation.
