Join us for a day filled with art, culture, and community activities that honor Black history and creativity. Enjoy interactive programs, live performances, hands-on art-making, and more!

  • Artist Spotlight
    Blissfully Colored: A Love Letter to the Culture by local artist Jasmine Browner
  • Letters of Hope
    Join the Westmoreland Chapter of the NAACP for a meaningful card-writing activity, along with resources and creative art projects.
  • Make-and-Take Art
    Engage in hands-on art activities designed for all ages.
  • Black History Month Book Selection & Resources
    Explore a curated collection of books and resources presented by the Greensburg Hempfield Children’s Library.
  • Free Face Painting
    Get a colorful, artistic design from Beanie Paints.
  • Black-Owned Food Vendors
    Savor delicious offerings from local Black-owned food businesses.
  • Community Partner Tables
    Connect with local organizations and learn about their impactful work.
Activity Schedule:
  • 10am–2pm | Free Live Poems
    Enjoy a personalized poem from roaming poet Haley Clancey, crafted on the spot just for you.
  • 10:30–11:00am | Black History Month Talk
    Join Dr. Tony Mitchell for an engaging discussion on the origins and significance of Black History Month.
  • 11am–1pm | Children’s Storytime
    Seton Hill University’s Black Student Union presents a special Storytime featuring books that celebrate and honor Black history.


Live Music Performances:

Ibeji Drum Ensemble
  • 11:15– 11:45am | Interactive Drum Circle
    Join the Ibeji Drum Ensemble for a lively, all-ages drum circle that invites everyone to participate.
  • 12-12:30pm | Viola Performance
    Enjoy a beautiful viola performance by Gloria Wide, a UniSound BTAR artist.
  • 12:45– 1:15pm | Interactive Drum Circle (Encore)
    Missed the first session? The Ibeji Drum Ensemble returns for an encore of their interactive, all-ages drum circle.
  • 1:30–2pm | Duet Performance
    Experience a captivating duet by UniSound BTAR artists Gloria Wide and Anyah Nancy.
  • 2:30–3pm | Vocal Performance
    Be moved by the powerful vocals of renowned soprano Sharmane Davis in this unforgettable performance.
