Contemporary Glass from the Salatka Collection (Pop-Up Exhibition)

Cost: Free – $10

FREE FOR MEMBERS

On view during Reflections in Glass: October 14–18, 2026

Drawn from the collection of retired physician and longtime arts supporter Dr. Karl Salatka, this exhibition celebrates the diversity and innovation of contemporary studio glass. Although he began collecting without a formal background in art, Salatka built his collection through curiosity and a commitment to acquiring works that resonated with him personally. His collection reflects both a passion for artistic excellence and a belief that art should inspire an immediate emotional connection.

The six works on view demonstrate the remarkable range of contemporary glass, from beautifully crafted vessels to expressive sculptural forms. Using techniques including blowing, fusing, sandblasting, and etching, these artists continually expand the possibilities of the medium. Together, they reveal that glass is far more than a functional material, serving as a dynamic vehicle for technical innovation and artistic expression.

This pop-up exhibition is on view during Reflections in Glass, October 14–18, 2026. Ticket required.
