On view during Reflections in Glass: October 14–18, 2026

From elegantly crafted vessels to expressive sculptural forms, the works in this exhibition demonstrate the remarkable possibilities of contemporary glass. Drawing on longstanding traditions of craftsmanship while pushing the medium in new directions, these artists use techniques including glassblowing, fusing, etching, and sandblasting to manipulate glass in strikingly different ways.

The works on view come from the collection of retired physician and longtime art collector Dr. Karl Salatka, alongside a work from the Museum’s permanent collection. Over several decades, Salatka has built his collection through curiosity and a strong personal response to the art he encounters. The works gathered here reflect that spirit of discovery and a shared appreciation for the expressive possibilities of glass.
