Sunday Fun Day: Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

Free

Fun event for the whole family!

Sunday, September 21
10am-3pm

Hugo Cruz

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at The Westmoreland with a vibrant day of music, dance, art, and community! Enjoy live performances by Hugo Cruz and Caminos and Apasionado Dance, take advantage of a free mini headshot session with Maria Mejia Photography, and explore hands-on art-making activities for all ages. Browse a curated selection of books highlighting Hispanic culture from the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library, and savor delicious food and drinks available for purchase.

Explore the featured exhibition The  Art of Elizabeth Catlett from the Collection of Samella Lewis. A trailblazing sculptor and printmaker, Catlett spent seven decades creating art that honored the dignity and strength of marginalized communities. Her powerful depictions of laborers, women, and African Americans address social issues relevant in both the United States and Mexico—two countries where she resided during her lifetime.

Join us as we honor the rich traditions, diverse cultures, and creative expressions of Hispanic heritage!
