The Westmoreland invites families to dive right in and experience American art. We offer a wealth of hands-on programs created to delight, inspire and engage all ages.
ART BABIES Inaugural Tour: Monday, April 6 Tours offered on the first Monday of each month, 10-10:45am Watch your baby respond to colorful artworks and learn ways to facilitate early visual literacy skills in this lively 45-minute tour! These tours are designed to provide parents, grandparents, or caregivers a shared opportunity to teach and learn about art alongside their infant. Adults will learn to name, describe and share characteristics they see in the art with their infant, actively building the baby’s early sense of visual literacy! TODDLER TOURS Inaugural Tour: Saturday, April 4 Tours offered on the first Saturday of each month, 10-11:15am Experience works of art alongside your child in this engaging, interactive tour! Each tour will focus on a small number of artworks and use a variety of activities including, dance, movement, music, drama, stories, and more, to enhance your connection and interpretation of the art! COMMUNITY DAYS On the first Sunday of every month, The Westmoreland has a FREE themed Community Day! These Community Days provide activities for everyone who wants to experience the Museum in a fast-paced and fun-filled way. The galleries and Museum spaces will be filled with everything from art-making activities, live music, surprise pop-up happenings to an outdoor petting zoo, dance performances and more! Every month will be different, but always a lively, experience!
ART CLASSES The Museum offers studio art classes on Saturday mornings for children ages 7-10. These classes are designed to ignite creative experimentation while teaching fundamental art techniques. SUMMER ART CAMPS Every summer, the Museum offers week long art camps where children can explore their creativity through fun, innovative programs taught by professional art instructors.
