In partnership with oneBurgh, The Westmoreland invites you to share your sports memorabilia at a community event at the Museum on August 16.
We want to see your sports memorabilia! Apply by August 12!
Extra points for anything Pittsburgh or Yinzer related, but all sports and teams are welcome. Have a signed ball or puck? A stash of old football programs? Binders of vintage baseball cards? A lock of Troy Polamalu’s hair? We want to see it!
Apply by Wednesday, August 12, to be considered to show your sports memorabilia at a free community showcase (10am–1pm) during Sunday Fun Day: Art in Play at The Westmoreland on August 16! (You bring the cool sports stuff, and the Museum will supply a six-foot table to put it on. For more info and to be considered, please email info@thewestmoreland.org with your name and description of your sports memorabilia.)
About the Event — Sunday Fun Day: Art in Play
August 16, 2026 (Event runs 10am–3pm | Sports Memorabilia Showcase runs 10am–1pm)
At this sports-themed event, the Museum comes alive with creativity and play! Visitors can see 60+ hand-illustrated baseballs in Play Ball!, The Art of George Sosnak, including many dedicated to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sosnak was a Pittsburgh native, minor league umpire, and self-taught artist. Next, play a round of art inspired mini golf in Putt-a-palooza. Enjoy music and interactive games by Savvy Sounds, baseball card–style caricature drawings, a special pop-up experience from the Clemente Museum, and live performances. Perfect for all ages, this event invites families, sports fans, and art lovers to play, explore, and experience the creative side of sports! Admission is free.
