GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania (June 2, 2026) – The Westmoreland Museum of American Art invites visitors of all ages to tee up for mini golf fun with Putt-a-palooza: Art Inspired Mini Golf, opening Friday, June 5. This interactive experience transforms the Museum’s large Cantilever Gallery into an expertly designed nine-hole mini golf course. Each custom hole is based on a different artwork on view in the Museum’s galleries. Golfers round out their play by earning extra points through a scavenger hunt to identify the works that served as inspiration for the holes and to answer trivia questions about the art. Putt-a-palooza will remain open through Sunday, August 30.

“After the success of the Art Maze last year, we look forward to welcoming visitors this summer to enjoy a one-of-kind mini golf experience that approaches art in a playful and engaging way,” said Silvia Filippini-Fantoni, PhD, The Richard M. Scaife Director/CEO of The Westmoreland. “We want people to walk away feeling entertained and that they learned something new.”

To create Putt-a-palooza, The Westmoreland collaborated with artist duo A Couple of Putts, who specialize in designing unique mini golf holes inspired by art and other subject matter. They have worked with clients around the country to develop unique mini golf courses that prioritize both creativity and quality of play. Production of the holes was completed by 3DX Scenic, a fabricator of immersive theming for amusement parks, museums, zoos, live events, and more.

Admission to Putt-a-palooza is free for members of The Westmoreland. For non-members, the pricing is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages four and up. Children three and under are free. As a Blue Star Museums program participant, The Westmoreland offers up to six free tickets to active-duty military personnel and their families. Groups of 10 or more receive a discounted ticket price of $5 per person, which must be reserved in advance. Private rentals for the course are also available. Complete information about admission, pricing, group reservations, and private rentals can be found on the Museum’s website.

General admission to The Westmoreland remains free during the run of Putt-a-palooza and gives visitors access to all other areas of the Museum, including the popular Steel Valley Visions exhibition and immersive experience and Play Ball! The Art of George Sosnak.

There will be a number of opportunities to experience Putt-a-palooza for free, including on Sundays and at the following community events: Pride Prom (Saturday, June 27, 6–9pm), Summer Saturday: America’s Birthday Bash (Saturday, July 11, 6–9pm), and Sunday Fun Day: Art in Play (Sunday, August 16, 10am–3pm). Due to limited capacity, attendees for these community events must reserve a mini golf time slot, available on a first-come, first-served basis, when checking in at the Welcome Desk. On Friday evenings from June through August, the Museum presents free Summer Sounds Happy Hours (5-7pm with a cash bar and paid access to Putt-a-palooza. Learn more about these events and other Museum programming at thewestmoreland.org/events.

Putt-a-palooza is dedicated in memory of Tom Tanto, a pioneer in golf course development and irrigation and a long-time supporter of the Museum.
